Okay, if you’ve ever wondered what “love at first sight” looks like in real time let me introduce you to Stephanie and Mike. Their Florida Theatre engagement session in Jacksonville, FL felt like stepping onto the set of a romantic indie film: iconic marquee lights, sweet sidewalk dances, and that warm, golden-hour that made every photo feel like a forever kind of moment. Their connection? Instant. And I mean instant. Stephanie told me they met on Hinge (cue all of us cheering for modern love) and ended up talking so long on their first date they literally shut the restaurant down. From that moment on, they’ve barely spent a day apart and once you see these photos, you’ll understand exactly why!
The Florida Theatre Was the Perfect Backdrop
This historic gem in downtown Jacksonville served vintage glam and dreamy city beauty all in one. With its glowing pink marquee and detailed brickwork, the Florida Theatre added the perfect splash of character to their laid-back love story. Every shot in front of those bright lights felt electric like the city was clapping for their love. We played with motion and stillness, spinning around in the street, twirling beneath the lights, and sharing quiet moments under the marquee’s warm glow. Stephanie and Mike showed up ready to feel everything and that energy came through in the most effortless, magical way!
A Session That Felt Effortless (Because Their Chemistry Is the Real Deal)
Let’s talk about how these two absolutely glowed. From Mike’s gentle forehead kisses to Stephanie’s genuine, radiant laugh, their love was so present it basically choreographed the whole session for us. They didn’t need prompts they just were. Soft touches, natural giggles, the way they looked at each other like no one else existed. That’s the kind of real, relaxed energy that makes an engagement session so special. They kept things simple and sweet with neutral outfits that let the golden light and their connection do the talking. (Seriously, Stephanie’s white dress against that soft peach sunset? Insert chef’s kiss.)
From City Streets to Riverside Strolls
After our time at the Florida Theatre, we wandered toward the water for a few softer, more intimate moments along the river. The way the sunlight danced on the surface and wrapped around them was unreal. This shift in scenery gave us a chance to slow down, soak it all in, and capture the more tender, cuddly side of their love story. We ended the session with the kind of light that photographers dream of and a couple who trusted the process, leaned into each other, and gave us all the feels!
