Kelly and Dwaine’s wedding occurred on the most perfect October day at the Wylder Hotel Tilghman Island. The Wylder Hotel is located on the Chesapeake Bay and is an incredible waterfront hotel with plenty of activities for guests. The DC couple chose the Wylder Hotel because they loved how the hotel had a Cape Cod feel. The Wylder Hotel was the perfect backdrop for their classic bayside wedding!
Thoughtful Gifts
Dwaine and Kelly are such thoughtful people. They both gave handwritten notes to each member of the opposite bridal party to show their appreciation and love for the other person’s friends. It was so special getting to see each person read their letter. For Kelly’s gift, Dwaine gifted her a book of love letters he had been writing to her for years. It was so romantic! Out of town guests were welcomed to the Wylder Hotel Tilghman Island with bags filled with touches of Maryland including crab chips and crab mallets.
Bayside Wedding Details
Kelly wore a gorgeous tulle dress with lace details that photographed beautifully. She also had a cathedral length veil that we used in several shots to add some stunning movement. Kelly carried a white and green bouquet that contrasted nicely against Dwaine’s blue suit which was a nod to their coastal wedding. The bridesmaids wore dusty blue dresses and the groomsmen wore gray suits which created a classic, clean look.
Wylder Hotel Tilghman Island Bayside Ceremony
The couple had their ceremony on the bay at the Wylder Hotel Tilghman Island. Dwaine and the groomsmen arrived to the ceremony on a boat which was a unique touch. The couple got married under a classic wooden arch adorned with luscious greenery and classic white flowers. We got some amazing shots of the waterfront views as the couple exchanged their vows on the bay.
Classic Maryland Reception
Kelly and Dwaine chose timeless, classic details for their reception at the Wylder Hotel Tilghman Island which photographed beautifully. The white tablecloths, light blue napkins, and touches of greenery contrasted nicely against the warm wooden floors and cross back chairs. Kelly and Dwaine’s cake was a simple but elegant three tier cake with semi-naked icing and a classic gold cake topper. The highlight of the night was seeing Kelly and their guest’s faces light up when Dwaine got up on stage to sing with a friend.
