Emily & Evan’s picnic engagement session turned out to be so sweet – so many laughs and snuggles. And, their story is as unique as they are, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you! Emily and Evan first crossed paths in college, during a classic Sunday “darty” – that’s a daytime party for those who don’t know. Emily, the shining star of her lacrosse team, caught the eye of Evan, a dedicated hockey player. Sparks flew and they instantly hit it off. But the story doesn’t end there! That same night, the hockey team hosted a party to watch the Game of Thrones season finale. Emily and Evan found themselves seated together, sharing wine, laughter, and good company. Their connection deepened, and they ended the night at a friend’s open-bar birthday party at their favorite local tequila bar. As Emily so beautifully put it, “The rest is history!”

A Cute Picnic Engagement Session

Fast forward to their engagement session, which took place at the very location where Evan popped the question. How romantic is that?! In every picture, I aimed to capture their love story, along with the unique details that truly make their relationship special. Emily and Evan brought along a blanket for the shoot – not just any blanket, but one that was from Emily’s sister’s engagement session that I had the privilege to photograph over five years ago. Talk about nostalgia!

The glassware they used during the session had a special significance too. It was from Canada, which is where Evan is from. A representation of his roots that made their engagement session even more personal and special. And then there’s Emily’s dress! This stunning piece was borrowed from a former client of mine, who also happens to be Emily’s future bridesmaid. It added a touch of elegance and charm to their shoot.
