Nantucket, Massachusetts Engagement Photos | Natalie & Brian Massachusetts Wedding Photographer

Engagement

August 6, 2026

There’s a reason so many couples dream of Nantucket engagement photos… the cobblestone streets, weathered cedar shingles, and golden-hour light bouncing off Main Street’s historic brick storefronts make this island one of the most romantic backdrops in New England. I got to spend a summer evening wandering downtown Nantucket with Natalie and Brian for their engagement session, and it might just be one of my favorite sessions of the year.

If you’re searching for a Nantucket, Massachusetts engagement photographer, I’d love for you to keep scrolling — and keep reading, because Natalie and Brian’s love story is the kind of real, unforced, “we weren’t even trying” story that I think a lot of couples will relate to.

Natalie & Brian’s Love Story

In Natalie’s words:

“We don’t really have a crazy love story to tell, and quite honestly, I didn’t think much about him when I first met him — and he says the same about me. We were in ROTC together in college, which from my perspective, has you in the absolute trenches as a female when it comes to how you look, though he wouldn’t put it that way. He likes to say that he remembers I didn’t laugh a lot and had a chronic case of resting b**** face, and it made him feel proud to make me laugh.

We ultimately had a lot of the same friends, and it was kind of like all the sudden he was my very casual friend (if you know, you know). We did a lot of sneaking around and breaking up for a while, but obviously neither of us really wanted it to be that way, otherwise we wouldn’t be here. After three years of officially dating — not counting the year and a half of ‘casual’ we did before that — we got married!

We can both attest that married life has put us in the best headspace, both individually and together, than all the rest of the years we’ve been together.”

I love this because it’s proof that the best love stories don’t need fireworks from day one, sometimes it’s just two people who kept choosing each other, over and over, until “casual” turned into forever.

The Session

Natalie and Brian met me downtown for golden hour, and Nantucket showed off. We wandered past the historic brick buildings near Main Street, ducked through the arched brick storefront and ended the evening tucked against a weathered cedar-shingled barn with a green door that looked like it was plucked straight out of a New England postcard. Natalie’s soft blue halter gown moved beautifully in the breeze, and honestly, the light on this island did most of the work for me.

We kept things relaxed and playful all evening. Lots of hand-holding, easy laughter, and a few stolen kisses in front of Nantucket’s iconic architecture.
