Hanna and Jacob’s wedding day felt like a deep breath. From the start, they knew they wanted something simple, personal, and very them, a Colorful Intimate Backyard wedding in St. Augustine that focused on their relationship and the people (and dogs) they love most! No big production, no packed timeline, just a slow, meaningful day at home. Their backyard became the setting for everything: getting ready, private vows, a quiet ceremony, and eventually a celebration that slowly filled with family and laughter. It was relaxed, intentional, and honestly such a joy to be part of!

A Slow Morning & a Colorful Intimate Backyard Ceremony

The morning set the tone for the entire day. Hanna and Jacob took their time getting ready. Reading private vows and easing into the reality that this was their wedding day. No rushing, no outside noise, just the two of them moving through the morning together in a way that felt grounded and calm. Their ceremony was just as intentional. Just Hanna and Jacob, their dogs, their best friend Brooke officiating, and me there quietly documenting it all. Standing in their own backyard, surrounded by color and familiar space, they made it official in a way that felt honest and incredibly meaningful. This Colorful Intimate Backyard ceremony wasn’t about impressing anyone. It was about creating a moment that felt true to their relationship and the life they’ve built together!

When Family Arrived & the Backyard Turned Into a Celebration

After they said “I do,” everything naturally shifted. Family started to arrive little by little, filling the backyard with hugs, conversation. And that cozy energy that only comes from being surrounded by people who know you really well. It didn’t feel like a formal reception, it felt like a really good gathering that just happened to be a wedding. The bright florals, the outdoor tables, the pizza oven, and the dogs weaving through it all made the entire evening feel relaxed and fun without trying too hard. Hanna and Jacob were fully present, laughing, talking, and soaking it all in. This Colorful Intimate Backyard wedding was proof that you don’t need a huge guest list or a traditional venue to create something memorable, you just need intention and space to actually enjoy your day!
